Linda Carmichael has been a successful teacher for over thirty years. In that time she has taught thousands of people on both sides of the Atlantic. She teaches a life transforming skill called ‘The Alexander Technique’, a method for rooting out unconscious habits, both mental and physical in order to calm the mind while improving posture and mobility and enhancing voice production and natural breathing. Five years ago she became aware that some of her students would benefit from  coaching in giving public presentations. Some of Linda’s students are professors at colleges such as Harvard and MIT and many more work in corporate environments, often in executive positions. Others are climbing the ladder in that direction. Linda realized that in spite of their accomplishments in their field, many were still not comfortable standing in front of an audience, no matter how small to give a presentation.  Linda is a graduate of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland one of the leading Drama schools in the UK. In her twenties and thirties she was a successful actress in Britain, so using her skills as an actress and an Alexander teacher, Linda has melded the different components of her experience to design a course in the art of authentic communication and public speaking. Linda's aim is that her students will actually enjoy public speaking.

Since 2016 I have been working with activists who are members of Rights and Democracy in NH and VT. I have particularly enjoyed teaching people how to craft a well- structured speech and then deliver it in a way that is compelling, clear and inspiring. 

I am particularly interested in working with Non-Profit organizations. It is often vital in order to raise awareness of their work and just as importantly to raise well needed funds if their speakers can give great presentations. Sometimes it is necessary to translate technical or specialized information in a way that the lay person can not only understand but be inspired by.
